Customize your alugha player appearance

Summary

Make the alugha player match your brand by creating a custom branding profile with your own logo, player colour, name, and link. You can also hide the alugha logo or set a custom accent colour through the embed settings — so the player looks at home on any website.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

  • A published video project with at least one Playable language — see Publish your multilingual video project.
  • A logo image ready to upload (PNG or SVG, transparent background recommended) if you want custom branding.
  • The hex colour code of your brand colour (for example #00AFAA) if you want a custom accent.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the brand picker

Open the video in the dubbr (My archive → EDIT). Go to Im-/Export → Share Project. In the SHARE YOUR PROJECT dialog, the Your branding profiles panel on the right lets you switch or create profiles.

Alternatively, switch to the EMBED OPTIONS tab and enable the Custom branding toggle. Both paths lead to the PICK YOUR BRAND dialog.

2. Pick an existing brand or create a new one

The PICK YOUR BRAND dialog shows two columns:

  • Profile — your account avatar.
  • Custom Brands — any custom branding profiles you have created. Each shows a logo preview, a name (for example Alugha Blue…), and edit (pencil) / delete (trash) icons.

Click an existing brand card to apply it, or click + New brand to create a fresh profile.

3. Design your brand profile

When you create or edit a brand, the PICK YOUR BRAND editor appears with four fields:

  • LOGO — upload an image that replaces the default alugha play button in the player. Click the placeholder to browse or drag an image.
  • COLOR — pick a player accent colour from the colour picker or type a hex code directly (for example #00AFAA). This colour tints the progress bar, controls, and interactive elements.
  • NAME — give the brand profile a descriptive name (for example Client XYZ Event 2026).
  • LINK — add a URL that the logo links to when clicked in the player (for example your company homepage).

Click SAVE to store the profile, or CANCEL to discard changes.

4. Apply the brand via embed settings

Your brand profile is now ready. To apply it to an embed, open the EMBED OPTIONS tab and look at the CUSTOM OPTIONS section. Three toggles are relevant for appearance:

  • Hide alugha logo — removes the default alugha logo from the player chrome.
  • Custom color — enables the accent colour from your brand profile.
  • Custom branding — applies your full brand profile (logo + colour + link).

The EMBED PREVIEW on the right updates in real time so you can see how each toggle changes the player before you copy the embed code.

Good to know

  • Brand profiles are account-wide — create once, apply to any project. Switch per-project in the Share or Embed dialog.
  • You can have multiple brand profiles (one per client, one per event, etc.). Delete unused ones from the PICK YOUR BRAND dialog.
  • Changes are immediate — switching a brand profile or toggling Custom branding takes effect for all viewers who open the link or embed from that point forward.
  • The EMBED PREVIEW is a real live player — click play to verify the full experience with branding, colours, and logo before copying the code.
  • Branding is free — no credits. Only AI actions (STT, Translation, TTS) cost credits.
  • The LINK field in the brand editor makes your logo clickable in the player — useful for driving traffic back to your site.

Troubleshooting

My logo does not appear in the player:

  • Make sure Custom branding is toggled on in the EMBED OPTIONS Custom Options.
  • Check the logo file — use a transparent PNG or SVG. Solid-background logos may blend into the player chrome.
  • The EMBED PREVIEW shows the logo in real time. If it is not visible there, the image may not have uploaded correctly.

The colour looks wrong:

  • Verify the hex code in the brand editor. Typos like #00AFA (5 chars) or #00AFAAA (7 chars) will give unexpected results.
  • Toggle Custom color on in the Custom Options. The colour only applies when the toggle is active.

I want branding on the shared link, not just on embeds:

  • Switch to the SHARE OPTIONS tab and select the brand profile in the Your branding profiles panel (teal check mark). The shared alugha.com video page will use that branding.
